At our May meeting, Lenawee Indivisible took an important step heading into the 2026 midterms: we voted to officially endorse Christian Vukasovich for Michigan’s 5th Congressional District, where he is running against incumbent Tim Walberg.
This endorsement didn’t happen overnight.
Back in January, our members identified the issues that matter most to us.
In April, we invited Christian to our monthly meeting to answer our questions directly.* What we heard convinced us that Christian is the right candidate to carry our values to Congress.
*We extended the same invitation to Congressman Tim Walberg—we didn’t hear back.
Why Christian?
When we talk about a meaningful endorsement, we mean three things: a public commitment we will stand behind, a pledge of tangible support from our group, and a reflection of what Lenawee Indivisible stands for.
Christian made it easy to check all those boxes.
Here’s where he stands on the issues our members care most about:
Health Care — Christian supports Medicare for All and recognizes women’s health care as a fundamental right. He believes health care must be affordable for everyone.
The Economy — Christian believes every person is entitled to a living wage and affordable housing. He supports good union jobs and an economy that rewards hard work and dignity.
Social Security & Medicare — Christian is committed to protecting these essential programs for seniors and all who depend on them.
Veterans’ Rights — Christian believes the men and women who have served this country deserve respect, and that no veteran should ever be homeless or lack access to medical care.
Voter Protection — Christian has vowed to fight against all forms of voter suppression.
Immigration Reform — Christian supports humane border security, comprehensive immigration reform, and abolishing ICE, which he believes cannot be reformed at this point.
Environmental Protection — Christian will hold polluters accountable, ensuring cleanup costs fall on those responsible—not taxpayers. He supports renewable energy investments that protect our land and lower costs for working families.
Protecting Trans People — Christian believes every person has the right to live without discrimination or fear.
The War in Iran — Christian has stated plainly that the war is unconstitutional.
Passing the Indivisible National Test
For Indivisible National to consider endorsing a candidate, they look for members of the “fight-back faction”—candidates who refuse contributions from billionaire donors enriching Trump and his allies, and who commit to using congressional power to investigate and prosecute abuses by the current administration.
Christian has pledged to accept no corporate money, and when asked about holding the administration accountable, his answer was simple: “Absolutely.”

An endorsement is only as strong as the commitment behind it. Now that we’ve made ours, it’s time to get to work. Whether you can knock doors, make calls, write postcards, make a donation, put up a yard sign, or show up to events, your involvement matters.
