While the news from the White House this week came hot, fast, and—let’s be honest—horrible, that hasn’t stopped people from rising to the occasion. Across Lenawee County and beyond, everyday citizens are stepping up in both big and small ways to resist, to organize, and to protect democracy.

As bestselling author Sharon McMahon recently reminded us:

While Lenawee Indivisible is busy preparing for a major event during the Congressional Recess (tentatively set for April 26—details coming soon!), there are several opportunities—organized by a variety of groups—which will allow you to take action in our community. Here’s what’s on the horizon.

📚 April 17: Support Public Education Demonstration

✊ April 19: Demonstrate & Donate Rally

Celebrate Earth Day with a brand-new Indivisible group just over the county line! Join us in the morning for nature activities, a guided walk, and room to play. Come back in the evening for wildlife observation, reflections from special guests, and a short hike to a stunning sunset view. A beautiful way to support public lands and build community across Jackson and Lenawee counties.

During the Congressional Recess, we’re calling on Rep. Tim Walberg to face his constituents—ready or not! Bring your questions and concerns written on a 3×5 card (we’ll personally deliver them to his office after the event), a camping chair, your signs, and energy. Regardless of whether Rep. Walberg shows up, we’ll be there—speaking truth and demanding accountability.
