We’re inviting Rep. Tim Walberg to face his constituents at a town hall—ready or not!

As part of the Congressional Recess (April 12–27), Rep. Walberg will be back in Michigan. That means it’s our chance to show up, speak out, and remind him who he works for: us.

Lenawee Indivisible is hosting a community town hall in Tecumseh, and whether or not Walberg accepts our invitation, we’ll be there—ready to speak the truth and demand better.

Town Hall Details

📍 Where: Adams Park (309 E. Chicago Blvd), Tecumseh, MI
🗓️ When: Saturday, April 26 | 11 a.m.–12 p.m.
🪑 What to Bring:

  • Your questions and concerns written on a 3×5 card
  • A camping chair or something comfy to sit on
  • Your signs and energy

Why Town Halls Matter

Town halls are one of the most powerful ways we can hold elected officials accountable. When we show up together, we make change—and with congressional Republicans pushing an agenda that guts essential programs for working families to fund tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy, we cannot afford to sit this one out.

Their plan would:

💸 Slash over $1.5 trillion from Medicaid, SNAP, and other vital programs
🏥 Strip healthcare from vulnerable families
🥪 Take school meals away from children
📈 Raise costs on housing, groceries, and more
🚀 All while giving massive tax breaks to billionaires like Elon Musk

We’re calling on Rep. Walberg to explain why he supports policies that hurt everyday people—and benefit the wealthiest few.

Our Goals for This Event

✅ Get Rep. Walberg to defend these policies—or admit he won’t face his constituents
✅ Shine a light on how these policies are harming real people in our community
✅ Show our neighbors what democracy in action looks like
✅ Keep the pressure on—because Walberg works for all of us, not just billionaires

A Moment of Urgency: Bring Kilmar Home

We’re also calling on Rep. Walberg—and every elected official—to speak out against Trump’s mass deportation agenda and demand the safe return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a father illegally detained and disappeared to El Salvador under horrifying conditions.

Kilmar’s deportation violates U.S. and international law and is part of a terrifying system of abductions that must end. Our leaders cannot look the other way.

How You Can Help

Invite friends—the more voices, the better
Show up with signs, rain or shine—we’re not going to let the weather stop us
Bring a 3×5 card with your questions or concerns for Rep. Walberg
Stay peaceful and principled—we de-escalate, we don’t instigate

Accessibility: We’re working to make this event accessible to everyone. Street parking is available near Adams Park, and we’ll do our best to accommodate seating and mobility needs. Please reach out ahead of time if you have specific questions or requests.

Support Local Businesses: Tecumseh’s small business community is vibrant—and some local spots are proudly aligned with pro-democracy values. Before or after the town hall, consider stopping by Tecumseh Bread & Pastry, Harvest Chocolate, or Schmidt & Sons Pharmacy to boost businesses that support the community.

Take action from anywhere: Can’t attend? You can still make your voice heard! Use the 5 Calls app to contact your representatives and demand they protect programs like Medicaid and SNAP—and speak out against unlawful deportations.

About Us: Lenawee Indivisible is a volunteer-powered, non-partisan group based in Southeast Michigan. We’re committed to protecting democracy, holding elected officials accountable, and empowering voters. We are a chapter of the national Indivisible Movement.

We’ll Be There—Will Walberg?

Whether Rep. Walberg shows up or not, we will. And we’ll make sure he hears us by hand-delivering your messages to his office. Congressional recess isn’t just a break—it’s a vital opportunity to make noise, demand answers, and remind our representative who he serves.

Join us on April 26 at Adams Park. Because democracy doesn’t work unless we do.
