Raise Your Voice. Join the Resistance.

At No Kings 3 in Adrian, we’re adding our voices to a tradition rooted in the Freedom Singing of the Civil Rights era and carried forward by today’s Singing Resistance in Minnesota. Lyrics for the March 28th singalong are below — find your voice and sing out.

WE SHALL NOT BE MOVED

No king here to rule us. (We shall not be moved) x2
ICE is not American. (We shall not be moved) x2
We’re fighting for our freedom . . . .
We’re fighting for our children . . . .
We’re fighting for our neighbors . . . .
We’re fighting for democracy . . . .
We’re fighting for our nation . . . .
All of us together . . . .

WE ARE HERE

We are here (We are here) in our city (in our city)
Saying no kings allowed here (Saying no kings allowed here)
We are here (We are here) with each other (with each other)
Raising our voices standing strong (Raising our voices standing strong)
We are here (We are here) peace and justice (peace and justice)
Singing no Kings, no ICE, no war. (Singing no Kings, no ICE, no war)
We are here (We are here) for our freedom (for our freedom)
Raising our voices standing strong (Raising our voices standing strong)

THE PEOPLE ARE MY REASON

The people are my reason (The people are my reason) x3
I’m never giving up (I’m never giving up)
The children are my reason (The children are my reason) x3
I’m never giving up (I’m never giving up)
The future is my reason (The future is my reason) x3
I’m never giving up (I’m never giving up)
Cause you can’t take my freedom (You can’t take my freedom)
You can’t take my freedom (You can’t take my freedom)
You can’t take, you can’t take (You can’t take, you can’t take)
We’re never giving up.

THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND

This land is your land, this land is my land
From California to the New York island
From the redwood forests to the Gulf Stream waters
This land was made for you and me

As I was walking that ribbon of highway
I saw above me that endless skyway
I saw below me that golden valley
This land was made for you and me

(Repeat)
