Yesterday, an amazing crew of Lenawee Indivisible members came together to show up for our community—patriotic and proud! We decorated our float (thanks to everyone who donated candy, bunting, and supplies), waved flags, handed out candy, flower seeds, and pretzels, and walked the 1.6-mile parade route with smiles and energy.
The response from the crowd was incredible—cheers, waves, and so many people who appreciated and encouraged our message of unity and democracy.

Why This Event Matters
While our float wasn’t a protest, it was an invitation to imagine a better world. Our banner proudly proclaimed: “Peace, Justice, Equality.”
By showing up as a joyful, united, and patriotic group to the County Fair Parade, we brought visibility to the pro-democracy work our group does year-round and sent a powerful message: America’s ideals are worth standing up for.
As one of our members wrote: “It was so much fun to be in the parade for such a positive reason! There were so many candy-loving kids, adults who loved the flower seeds, and everyone loved the stick flags! We were a patriotic, peaceful presence!”

Kudos to All Participants
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to make this event a success—organizers, decorators, riders, walkers, candy runners, and behind-the-scenes supporters. Special shoutout to the member who loaned us her trailer to use as a float. We’re so grateful for all of you!
