On Saturday, August 23, Lenawee Indivisible will stage a Die-In for Democracy to draw attention to how Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill puts healthcare on the chopping block. Participants will “play dead” with tombstone props and signs that make visible what’s at risk.
To help everyone prepare, we’ve pulled together a list of ideas for tombstone slogans and sign messages. Feel free to use these as inspiration—or come up with your own!

How to Use These Ideas

- Make a tombstone prop with cardboard, foam board, or poster board. Gray paper, paint, or duct tape can add to the effect.
- Write your chosen slogan in big, bold letters so it’s easy to read from a distance.
- Add simple imagery (like a cross, broken heart, or medical symbol) to make it more eye-catching.
