Dear Lenawee Indivisible Members,
Our Facebook group has grown rapidly since the election—and so has the urgency of staying aligned and effective.
It’s no secret that MAGA wants us distracted and overwhelmed. The nonstop chaos is designed to exhaust Americans into apathy. But we know better—and we’re here to do better.
That means our group must be, above all, a space for organizing and action. To support that goal, we’re expanding our Facebook moderator team and will be more selective about which posts are approved.
Most importantly, we’re asking for your help: before you post, think action first.
Does your post help us organize? Mobilize? Build power together?
We know this is a shift—and it may take some getting used to. But the stakes couldn’t be higher. The better we organize now, the greater our impact will be in the days and months ahead.
With that in mind, here’s what you can expect from our group going forward:
Posts We’re Likely to Approve:
✅ Posts that promote strategic, doable actions aligned with Indivisible’s mission—defending democracy from authoritarianism, electing local champions, and advancing progressive policies through nonviolent organizing.
✅ Posts related to Lenawee Indivisible’s work—including photos, updates, and media coverage.
✅ Posts that inspire us to keep going—content that motivates, empowers, or re-energizes our community.
✅ Posts from trusted local voices—including leaders or organizers sharing helpful, action-focused information aligned with our values.
Posts We’re Likely to Decline:
🚫 News without action—Most members are already informed; our group is for organizing. Please save general news articles for the “News of the Week” thread posted every Monday.
🚫 Memes and graphics—Whether from Occupy Democrats or ones you’ve made yourself, drop them in our “Meme Friday” thread—not the main feed.
🚫 Posts that just vent—We understand the frustration, but unproductive rants often derail discussion and momentum.
🚫 Political hot takes—This isn’t the place to rehash 2024 or debate strategy. We’re here to act, not make predictions or assign blame.
A Few Friendly Reminders Before You Post

No name-calling or personal attacks—toward politicians, members, or anyone else. Our group includes people from across the political spectrum, and respectful disagreement is part of democracy.
Different paths are welcome. Not everyone is doing the same kind of activism. If it’s not your approach and no one asked for feedback, just scroll on by.
Be kind. The people you’re replying to are real humans—neighbors you might see at our next rally. Remember: we’re all here because we care about our community and want a better future.
No violent language or threats. Posts promoting violence will be removed. Repeated violations will result in removal from the group.
Moderators are volunteers. We do our best, but we can’t always approve posts immediately or explain every decision. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Thank you for being here—and for everything you do, every day, to protect our democracy and live out the values we share.
Your commitment matters. Your actions matter.
And together, we are making a difference.
In solidarity,
Lenawee Indivisible Leadership & Facebook Group Moderators
