At Lenawee Indivisible, we know democracy works best when everyday people stay engaged—not just during elections, but every single week. Here are eight meaningful actions you can take right now to make a difference—organized by date so you don’t miss a beat.
1. 🗓 Tune In Thursday for “No Kings” Planning
Thursday, May 8 | 3 p.m. ET
Join Indivisible co-founders Leah and Ezra for “What’s the Plan?”—a weekly call where they break down political news, highlight grassroots wins, and lay out what’s next. This week, they’ll unveil details for the “No Kings” national protest on June 14. If you can’t attend the call live, don’t worry; the full video will be uploaded to Indivisible’s YouTube channel on Friday.
📲 RSVP for the call here.

2. 🏛 Visit Rep. Walberg’s Jackson Office
Friday, May 9 | 12–1 p.m. | Carpools leave at 11 a.m.
Help us bring our concerns directly to Rep. Tim Walberg’s doorstep. We’ll gather peacefully outside his Jackson office to deliver constituent messages from our town hall and demand answers on the issues that matter most—like attacks on food assistance and Trump’s extremist agenda.

3. 🛒 Join the Demonstrate & Donate Protest
Saturday, May 10 | 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. | Lenawee County Courthouse
Our friends at Hope in Action are back with another powerful “Demonstrate & Donate” event. Bring your signs and your voice to show up for justice—and if you’re able, bring nonperishable food items for their community food drive. No donation is required to attend—your presence alone sends a message.
📍 301 N Main St, Adrian, MI 49221
4. ✍️ Write for Democracy With the Postcard Posse
Saturday, May 10 | 10 a.m.–12 p.m. | Harvest Chocolate in Tecumseh
Connect with fellow volunteers and help mobilize voters by writing postcards! Whether you’re a seasoned pro or brand-new to postcarding, this gathering is a great way to make a tangible impact.

5. 🔥 Turn Up the Heat on Sen. Thom Tillis
Wednesday, May 15 | Virtual Phone Bank
North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis is one of the most vulnerable Republicans up for reelection in 2026—and right now, he’s backing Trump’s Tax Scam 2.0: a reconciliation plan that guts support for working families while lining the pockets of the ultra-wealthy.
Join a nationwide virtual phone bank to talk to NC voters about what’s at stake. Training is provided, and calls are made using the easy-to-use Scale To Win platform.

6. 📣 Demand Justice for Kilmar Abrego Garcia
Kilmar Abrego Garcia was wrongfully deported, despite a court ruling ordering his release. If Trump and ICE can openly defy the courts without consequences, no one’s rights are safe. Take two minutes to email your members of congress and demand they use every tool available to bring Kilmar home.

7. 💬 Hold GOP Lawmakers Accountable on SNAP & Medicaid
Trump’s backdoor budget plan would slash Medicaid and food assistance to fund tax breaks for billionaires. Let’s call Rep. Walberg and ask him where he stands. We need to get him on the record—so we can hold him accountable.

8. 📢 Spread the Word
Even if you can only do one or two of these actions, you can easily share this post with someone else! Every conversation matters. Let’s remind our friends and neighbors that democracy is a team sport—and the game is on.
As Indivisible co-founder Ezra likes to remind us, “Courage is contagious!“
